Lucas grew up in Vermont and was saved at the age of 15. It was during his senior year of high school that he felt the Lord leading him toward full time ministry. In pursuit of those desires, he earned a bachelor’s degree in youth ministries and a master’s degree in pastoral studies from Bob Jones University. Upon completion of their respective degrees, Lucas and his wife, Kellie, were married and began their search for the ministry the Lord would have for them. The Lord directed them to Calvary in September of 2006 to lead the youth ministry. Since then, the Lord has continued to bless in many ways. In 2010, He blessed them with a son, Brandt.
“I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to help, encourage, and disciple young people and their families. While Scripture places the responsibility of raising children that love God on parents, it also clearly explains how the church plays a vital role in equipping believers (including young people) to do the work of the ministry and families to raise their children. As our young people graduate from our youth group, it is my desire to see their love for God increase because their knowledge of Him has grown, and, in turn, serve Him out of a heart motivated by the Gospel.”
